Home - A Poem
HOME
Black leaves falling
Dead winter comes,
California is calling
Calling me home,
Just like a song
I heard as a child,
It lures me along
With a welcoming smile,
"If I didn't tell her,
I could leave today."
Such simple words
Make it impossible to stay.
But I can't go
I have no way there,
No car, no dough
No one who cares
What it would mean to me
To feel the warm sun,
And play in the sea.
There is - no one.
Black leaves falling
Dead winter comes,
California is calling
Calling me home.
