Child Of The Night - A Poem
CHILD OF THE NIGHT
She is the galaxy's daughter
A child of the night,
She rises from beyond black waters
To fly on wings of light
Across the skies.
The sun, who is her father
Arrives daily to warm her fears,
The moon, who is her mother
Comes nightly to dry the tears
In her eyes.
She is a beacon of the universe
Shining high above the thunder,
But she is a wish or a curse
To those who live down under
The clouds.
She is sister to Saturn and Mars
She is white-winged and gleaming,
She is Venus, a fiery-hearted star
And she sits in silence, dreaming
Among the crowds.
P.S. I have always loved this picture but I don't know who first created it. If you know, please tell me and I will credit them!
